Barbara J. WhiteFellowBarbara J. White, R.N., Ed.D. is Professor of Nursing at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. At Regis, Dr. White teaches both undergraduate and graduate course in health care ethics, leadership, health care management, community health, and spiritual care. She is Chair of the RN-BSN completion program and the innovative Worksite Option for health care workers who are seeking a BSN degree. With over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience, Dr. White is a leader in the field of nursing education, health care ethics, and leadership development. Dr. White received a BSN with honors from The University of Illinois College of Nursing and an MS in Nursing from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Her doctorate is in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. Her dissertation research was entitled Moral Leadership of Nurse Executives. In addition to her teaching and administrative responsibilities, Dr. White speaks nationally and internationally on topics related to health care ethics and nursing leadership. Her publications focus on Christian ethics, leadership, parish nursing, and collaboration between education and practice. Dr. White is on the Board of Directors of Nurses Christian Fellowship International and serves on the executive leadership team of Nurses Christian Fellowship in the United States. She is Board Chair of the Congregational Health Partnership, a health ministry focused on integrating faith and health in churches in the inner city of Denver. Dr. White is a Fellow in The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity. Her bioethical interests include nurse-patient relationship, managed care, personhood, suffering, and end of life issues. Dr. White and her husband, John, have a special interest in China. They travel to China yearly on business, lead tours, and take student nurses on educational learning exchanges.
