Linda K. Bevington, M.A. is Director of Research at
The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity in Bannockburn, Illinois.
She received her B.S. in biology/genetics from
Ball State University
and her M.A. in bioethics from
Trinity International
University.
Linda is a co-author of recent articles on human
cloning and stem cell research that appeared in the Mayo Clinic
Proceedings (August 2003) and The New England Journal of
Medicine (November 14, 2002). In addition, she is co-editor of
The Pill: Addressing the Scientific and Ethical Questions of the
Abortifacient Issue (The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity
2003). She has also contributed to books or chapters on
biotechnology (Genetics, Stem Cell Research, and Cloning: Are
These Technologies Okay to Use?, Kregel 2004), transgenics (Cutting-Edge
Bioethics, Eerdmans 2002), reproductive technologies (Reproductive
Technology: When Is It Right to Intervene?, Kregel 1998),
assisted suicide and euthanasia (Suicide and Euthanasia: Are They
Ever Right?, Kregel 1998), end-of-life decision-making (End
of Life Decisions: How Do We Know What's Right?, Kregel 1998),
and alternative medicine (Alternative Medicine: What is Good and
What is Not?, Kregel 2004). In addition, she co-authored The
Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity's statement On Human
Embryos & Stem Cell Research: An Appeal for Legally & Ethically
Responsible Science & Public Policy, which was released at a
July 1, 1999 press conference on Capitol Hill.
