Maura B. Butler
Consultant on Bioethics and Public Policy
Maura Butler is the Consultant on Bioethics and Public
Policy for The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity. She has studied issues
in bioethics for ten years, working in both academic and clinical settings.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in biology (magna cum laude, Beta Beta
Beta) and Bachelor of Arts in philosophy (magnum cum laude, Phi Sigma Tau)
from Le Moyne College. She then graduated summa cum laude with her Masters
degree in bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania. She also works with
the Susan B. Anthony List, a nationwide network of Americans dedicated to
mobilizing, advancing and representing pro-life women in the political
process.
Mrs. Butler recognizes and understands the need for both
foresight and action in the bioethics and biotech arena. And she believes
secular arguments are the key to having an impact on policy. She lives in
Washington, DC with her husband and son.
