Michael J. Sleasman

Managing Director and Research Scholar

 

Michael J. Sleasman, PhD, is the Managing Director and Research Scholar for The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity. He serves as an adjunct instructor and online course tutor at the college and graduate level of a number of institutions, including in the past Trinity International University and Wheaton College in the areas of philosophy, theology and ethics. His particular area of specialization is in the area of technological (especially computer and cyber-technology) ethics.

He is currently involved as a coordinating editor to develop online theological curriculum for Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Michael recently completed his doctorate in theological studies with a concentration in systematic theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His dissertation research examined eschatological hope in light of virtue theory.

He has co-edited and contributed several essays to the recently published volume Everyday Theology: How to Read Cultural Texts and Interpret Trends, edited by Kevin J. Vanhoozer, Charles A. Anderson, Michael J. Sleasman. In addition, he has written a number of book reviews for various journals as well as two articles ("Post-Conservative Theology" and "Christianity and the New Technologies") for the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Christian Civilization (Blackwell). Michael was a participant in the 2006 Calvin College Summer Seminar “Taste and See that the Lord is Good: Liturgical Participation and the Dynamics of Happiness” directed by Ellen T. Charry.
