After two years of faithful service as executive director of The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity (CBHD), Dr. C. Ben Mitchell is stepping down on July 1, 2008, in order to devote himself to full-time teaching, research, and writing. He will be on sabbatical during the summer and fall semester of 2008 and return to his regular teaching duties in spring 2009 at Trinity International University. The Center is grateful for Dr. Mitchell’s leadership, for his passionate and insightful contributions to the field of bioethics, and for his ongoing ministry at Trinity.

Dr. Jeanette Hsieh, interim president of Trinity International University, has appointed a search committee composed of CBHD Advisory board members, consultants, and staff that is now actively working on the interview phase of the search for the next executive director.

Please pray for the search committee as they work diligently and prayerfully on this important assignment. The next executive director will play a vital role in leading the Center to accomplish its mission of exploring the nexusof biomedicine, biotechnology, and our common humanity. Interested applicants can find information about the position at www.cbhd.org

The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity exists to equip thought leaders to engage the issues of bioethics using the tools of rigorous research, conceptual analysis, charitable critique, leading-edge publication, and effective teaching. As part of Trinity International University, the Center has tax-exempt, not-for-profit status and is supported by gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, and foundations. It is a national and international leader, introducing a wide range of live, recorded, and written resources examining bioethical issues.
