1. What is a podcast?
A podcast is like a radio show on the internet. You can listen to it at your convenience, by visiting a website, by copying it to your iPod or MP3 player, or by subscribing at the iTunes music store. See the entry on Podcasting at Wikipedia. Enjoy!
2.Do I Need an iPod to Listen?
No. In spite of the name "podcast" you do not need an iPod to listen. You can listen on your computer by clicking the link for the podcast episode at the podcast section of cbhd.org.
3.How Do I Get The Bioethics Podcast on my TiVo?
Warning: This is a kind of bleeding-edge technology—a bit beyond the cutting edge. First, you have to have a TiVo brand DVR, and it has to be connected to a broadband internet connection. (Instructions for connecting your TiVo to your broadband network are available at TiVo.com.) Soon after you're connected, you will receive a receive a service update that gives you a host of new features, one of which is Podcaster. (Click here to sign up for TiVo's priority list.)
Once all of that is in place:
- Go to TiVo Central by pressing the TiVo button on your remote.
- Select "Music, Photos, Products, & More."
- Select "Podcaster"
- Select "Enter a Url"
- Using your remote, enter the address of the rss feed: http://www.cbhd.org/audio/feed
- Select "Find Podcast"
- Press the green thumbs-up to ensure that it is added to your Favorites
- Listen and enjoy
Whenever you go back to "Podcaster," The Bioethics Podcast will be listed in the "Favorites" section. New episodes will automatically appear there as we upload them here.
