
Jan Shultis is a theologian and ethicist who holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy, a Master’s in Apologetics from Houston Christian University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology from Durham University (United Kingdom).
Jan was privileged to serve in the U.S. Navy as a Public Affairs Officer; she considers service in Afghanistan and as an instructor for the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center among career highlights. Today Jan writes and consults for multiple entities in biotechnology, clinical research, and higher education. She previously founded and ran a Texas-based non-profit for military and law enforcement; now Jan leverages that experience to advise and assist other non-profits and ministries. Jan is a subject matter expert in adult cell therapy, traumatic brain injury, and combat-related moral injury, and remains personally passionate about writing, researching, and teaching in those areas.
Jan resides in Houston with her daughter and rambunctious Doberman, surrounded by books and an ever-expanding garden.
