The use or non-use of feeding tubes for patients who are permanently unaware continues to be a contentious issue.  This conflict has been fueled in the past 2 years by high-profile media cases and by a Papal allocution.  But Christians should agree on such an important issue, right?  No, not right.  Believers are not univocal on this issue. In the presentation, Dr. Orr proposes to look at the main points on both sides of this issue, using illustrative cases.  He will conclude that it is sometimes ethically permissible, and not contrary to biblical precepts, to discontinue the use of artificially administered fluids and nutrition.
