Though it was barely reported in the US press, in March of this year the United Nations General Assembly approved by a nearly 3-1 vote one of the most important documents of our time: the United Nations Declaration on Human Cloning. The Declaration urged all nations to ban all forms of human cloning, and offers an illustration of both the challenge and the possibility of developing international standards in these new technologies for the global community.
