For 35 years Probe Ministries International has served as an interface between academic scholarship and the church. We strive to equip the Church to encounter issues that are pervasive in our culture from a Christian worldview. The area of bioethics is one area where the Christian voice can have a significant impact on the culture. While Christians are oftentimes well-versed in arguments against a specific issue, such as abortion, they are lacking in being able to apply the biblical basis of these issue-based arguments to bioethical issues in general. We begin by taking a biblical worldview approach (as opposed to an issue-based approach) in hopes that Christian lay people will 1) not be intimidated by scientific terms by beginning with the common ground of scripture then leading to the science, and 2) can filter specific bioethical issues through the lens of a Christian worldview. I will be presenting Probe’s worldview approach as well as a “field-tested” Sunday school curriculum that covered the major bioethical topics to a diverse audience.
