The fact that many Christians are unaware of the possibility that oral contraceptives can act as abortifacients, and the thought that untold numbers of believers are potentially (albeit unknowingly) aborting their unborn children, is enough to convince us that the stakes are indeed as high as Alcorn and others claim they are. Ignorance on this issue is inexcusable. Thus, my paper will seek to address this dividing point within the pro-life community by exploring the question: is it morally permissible for the Christian to use oral contraceptives?
