A definition of Human Dignity, as revealed in Scripture, is the cornerstone of Evangelical Bioethics. Humans are valued as beings who reflect the Image of God and their treatment in medical settings should be informed by this fundamental belief. However, in a majority of academic venues, the meta-narrative of the Bible and its contingent prescriptions are completely excluded from discourse and education. How can the worldview of evangelicals be shared in an environment that explicitly rejects the Judaeo-Christian heritage? The medical humanities have ascended as a critical teaching tool for many medical schools and post-graduate residency programs. The arts—literature, the visual arts, and music—have been the work of individuals who share a more traditional worldview than contemporary postmodern America. Curricula can be developed to express traditional bioethical values in a manner acceptable within general academe.
