Bioethics is a complex amalgam of at least science, ethics, philosophy, and theology. Communication of bioethics principles is therefore complicated, in part because each of the described elements has its own vocabulary. How does one translate the issues into a common language? Art is a very effective vehicle. Whether it is a painting, a photograph, a piece of sculpture, or a work of words, art can encapsulate and communicate complexities to the observer/reader. In this lecture, we will consider several works of art that particularly address bioethics themes.
